Gingerbread Bars with Cream Cheese Icing
Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons ground ginger (if you use fresh ginger use 1 teaspoon)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted (high fat content- European style)
2/3 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup unsulphured molasses
1 large egg
1 tanon vanilla
Cream Cheese Icing
1/2 cup cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
3 cups icing sugar, sifted
Pinch of salt
