Cherry Glaze
A sweet and delicious cherry glaze - perfect to pour over ice cream, pound cake, cheesecake or any item you would like a sweet delicious cherry flavor to accompany!
Ingredients:
3 Cups - Fresh Cherries
1/2 Cups - Water
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract or scrap out seeds from one vanilla beans
*1 tablespoon sugar substitute - Lakanto if Cherries are not sweet enough
*Optional Brandy or Gand Marnier to bring some spirit to your glaze.
Directions:
Bring water to a Boil then add clean, steam and pitted,( 3 cups) Rainier Cherries (any cherry would work)
Let mixture come to a boil and continue to boil until the cherries start falling a part. Add the Vanilla or almond extract if desired. If your cherries are not as sweet as you would like add 1 tablespoon sugar. Stir frequently to avoid scorching. I also stir the cherries to help break them down.
If desired add your Brandy or Grand Marnie and simmer until mixture thickens
Strain for fine liquid glaze or leave as a chunky glaze.
