Bell peppers can vary in color from green, red, yellow, and purple. Did you know that red bell peppers are actually green bell peppers that have just been ripened on the vine? Green bell peppers are available year round but it’s peak season is from July to September.

Buy It

When buying peppers, it’s best to look for firm, glossy peppers that are brightly colored and feel heavy for their size. Avoid buying peppers that have signs of wrinkling and have any soft pots.

Add It

Pepper are fresh and crunchy and offer a sweet. bold flavor when cooked. Peppers can be grilled, used in a stir fry, roasted, or steamed. You can eat the cooked bell peppers fresh, mix them in other dishes, stuff them or even add them to a salsa!

Prep It

It’s best to only keep your peppers for no longer than a week. You can store them in the fridge. When prepping, take off the sticker and wash. From there cut off the stem and prep according to the recipe.
