- 2/3 cup strong black coffee
- 1/4 tsp rum extract (for non-alcoholic version)
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tsp cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
- Optional: 2 tsp light brown sugar or 1 tsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Fill a glass mug with 2⁄3 cup of hot coffee. Add the sugar and rum extract and stir until dissolved. Allow the mixture to stand still until it has completely stopped swirling.
- Meanwhile, beat the cream in a medium bowl until it's thick and airy, but still pourable. Transfer the whipped cream to a jug with a spout.
- Pour the cream over the back of a spoon right in the center of each mug to create a smooth and even layer on top of the coffee.
- Dust the cream with cocoa powder (or cinnamon) for garnish, and serve immediately.
