- Crust:
 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - ⅓ cup confectioners’ sugar
 - ½ cup cold butter, diced (+ a little more if desired)
 - Apple Filling:
 - 3 cups granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (You can also use Homemade applesauce)
 - ⅓ cup brown sugar
 - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour/Almond flour (if using homemade applesauce, only add the flour)
 - Caramel Layer:
 - ¾ cup caramel topping
 - ¼ cup all-purpose flour
 - Topping:
 - 1 cup quick oats
 - 1 cup finely chopped walnuts or boozy nuts
 - ½ cup cold butter, diced
 - ¾ cup all-purpose flour/almond flour (substitute if preferred)
 - ⅓ cup confectioners’ sugar
 
Instructions
- Crust:
 - Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly butter your baking dish, getting the bottom and all sides.
 - In a large bowl, blend flour, confectioners’ sugar, and butter until the butter is no bigger than pea-sized and ingredients are well incorporated.
 - Press the crust into the prepared pan.
 - Bake for 15-20 minutes.
 - Apple Filling:
 - In a medium bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, and flour. Pour the apples over the baked crust.
 - If using homemade applesauce, add flour only.
 - Caramel Layer:
 - In a small bowl, combine caramel and flour. Pour over the apple mixture.
 - Topping:
 - In a medium bowl, add cold butter, flour, confectioners’ sugar, and oatmeal. Use your hands to sift the flour over the butter and then break down each piece into pea-sized pieces.
 - Crumble the oatmeal mixture over the apples and caramel mix.
 - Bake for 35-55 minutes.
