Did you know that wine is the most popular form of grape consumption? California is the home of grape country. It is the source of the majority of the grapes we consume, from fresh to dried and of course, wine. Grapes are in their peak season in September but can be available all year long.

BUY IT

When grabbing your grapes at the grocery store, look for plump, firm grapes. Avoid grapes that look shriveled and don’t have a consistent color. You can also look at the stems, if they are green and strong they are good to go!

ADD IT

Although you may think of grapes are your kids lunchbox staple and to drink as a great way to unwind. However grapes are great when roasted, braised, or simmered into a variety of dishes!

PREP IT

When prepping your grapes, make sure to always wash off the grapes first. From there, make sure to take them off their stem. If you’re storing grapes, make sure to store them in a cool place like your fridge.
