Apples

Did you know that the average American eats up to 20 pounds of apples a year? Apples are available from late July to early November. Apples like Gala and MacIntosh are in their peak in September. Though it may seem like it, not all apples are in season. You will likely find apples like Granny Smith, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, and Gala in your grocery stores all year round. However, there are varieties of apples that only appear for a short time and some only at a local orchard or farmer’s market.
